From soil to skin,
nothing is hurried.

We work with thirty-two botanical partners across France, Morocco, and Bulgaria. Every active ingredient is traced to a specific harvest, a specific field, and often a specific family who has tended it for generations.

Single-origin actives

Each botanical extract comes from one farm, one harvest. No anonymous commodities.

Cold-process formulation

Heat degrades active compounds. Our formulations are crafted at body temperature or below.

Refillable, recyclable, returnable

All glass primary packaging is refillable through our atelier program.

Maison Lumière

Founded in Aix-en-Provence by chemist and cosmetician Hélène Marchand, Lumière is a study in patience, formulated one batch at a time.

2014

Hélène opens her atelier above a perfumery in Aix-en-Provence with three formulations and a single mortar.

2017

The Radiance Serum wins its first Beauty Heroes editorial recognition. The waitlist reaches 1,200 names.

2021

Lumière opens its flagship boutique in Paris's 6th arrondissement and its formulation lab in Grasse.

2025

Today, Lumière is sold in 14 select boutiques worldwide, still made in batches of fewer than 800 units.

Inside the Atelier

Every Lumière product passes through three stages, each one led by hand.

Formulation

Each new product begins in our Grasse laboratory with eighteen to twenty-four months of stability and efficacy testing.

Compounding

Small batches are compounded at low temperature in our Aix atelier, by a team of three formulators.

Finishing

Each bottle is filled, sealed, and inspected by hand. A signed batch card travels with every product.
